Paris helps Oklahoma pick up first win

Nov 23, 2007 - 12:57 AM CANCUN, Mexico (Ticker) -- Courtney Paris scored 16 points and grabbed 19 rebounds to help 11th-ranked Oklahoma post a 67-59 win over No. 13 Arizona State on Thursday in the Caribbean Challenge.

Ashley Paris, the sister of Courtney, scored 21 points for the Sooners, who shot 49 percent (32-of-65) and held a 44-24 halftime lead.

Oklahoma (1-2), which opened the season with losses to No. 3 Maryland and top-ranked Tennessee, outrebounded Arizona State, 46-21.

Briann January and Dymond Simon scored 16 points each for the Sun Devils (2-2), who shot just 37 percent (20-of-54).
