McCants leads Carolina to easy win over Purdue

Nov 30, 2007 - 5:55 AM CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Rashanda McCants scored 28 points to lead No. 4 North Carolina to a 90-72 victory over Purdue in the first round of the ACC-Big Ten Challenge on Thursday.

Cetera DeGraffenreid added 17 points for the Tar Heels, who will face No. 1 Tennessee on Sunday.

North Carolina, which has beaten Purdue (2-4) three straight times, shot 42 percent (25-of-59) and had four players in double figures.

Lakisha Freeman scored 23 points for the Boilermakers, who have lost four straight.
