Defense, inside scoring helps Duke cruise
Jan 25, 2008 - 4:28 AM ATLANTA (Ticker) -- Chante Black had 16 points and 13 rebounds and Abby Waner added 15 and six as No. 10 Duke cruised past 23rd-ranked Georgia Tech, 73-47, in Atlantic Coast Conference action on Thursday.It was the 28th victory in a row over Georgia Tech for Duke, which also snapped the Yellow Jackets' 18-game home winning streak.
Duke, which led from start to finish, had a 12-point lead at the break and maintained its double-digit lead for the entire second half.
The Blue Devils (15-4, 4-1 ACC) outscored the Yellow Jackets, 42-24, in the paint and held Georgia Tech to just 29 percent shooting (18-of-62) for the game.
Chioma Nnamaka had 13 points to lead Georgia Tech (16-4, 3-3), which was also outrebounded, 48-31.
