Black, Waner lead Duke past Boston College
Feb 8, 2008 - 5:54 AM CHESTNUT HILL, Massachusetts (Ticker) -- Chante Black scored 11 points as No. 12 Duke posted a 51-41 Atlantic Coast Conference victory over Boston College on Thursday.Wooden Award candidate Abby Waner had 10 points and four rebounds and reserve Joy Cheek also scored 10 for the Blue Devils (17-6, 6-2 ACC), who rebounded from a 93-76 loss to No. 3 North Carolina on Monday.
Black, Waner and Cheek each had three steals for Duke, which shot only 31 percent (16-of-51) but had a 21-8 advantage on points off turnovers.
Reserve Mickel Picco scored 10 points and was the only player to reach double digit scoring for the Eagles (17-6, 5-3), who shot 35 percent (15-of-43) and went without a field goal for over 11 minutes in the second half.
