Smalley leads Auburn past Davidson
Dec 29, 2007 - 12:31 AM PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Alli Smalley scored 15 points off the bench as No. 15 Auburn beat Davidson, 66-59, in the Hawk Classic on Friday.Making her first start of the season in the wake of Whitney Boddie's suspension, Smalley converted 7-of-14 shots and added three assists and three steals as Auburn overcame an eight-point, first-half deficit before taking command in the second half.
Tamela McCorvey had 13 points and six assists and DeWanna Bonner grabbed nine rebounds for the Tigers (12-1), who had 15 steals and forced 20 turnovers.
Auburn will face host Saint Joseph's in the title game on Saturday.
Danielle Hemerka scored 13 points and Honna Housley added 11 for Davidson (6-5), which shot 40 percent (25-of-63) from the floor and made just 4-of-9 free throws.
