Fowles paces LSU in rout of Arkansas
Jan 11, 2008 - 3:40 AM FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas (Ticker) -- Sylvia Fowles had 18 points and 10 rebounds to help No. 11 Louisiana State rout previously undefeated No. 18 Arkansas, 76-54, in the Southeastern Conference opener for both teams on Thursday.Quianna Chaney and Allison Hightower each added 15 points for the Lady Tigers (12-3, 1-0 SEC), who improved to 2-2 against ranked opponents this season.
LSU raced out to a 39-17 halftime advantage and led by as many as 25 points midway through the second half. The Lady Tigers handed out 32 assists for the contest and shot 54 percent (34-for-63) from the field.
Lauren Ervin scored 13 points to pace the Razorbacks (15-1, 0-1), who had recorded double-digit victories in all but one of their first 15 games.
