Tennessee rides Parker into SEC title game
Mar 9, 2008 - 5:55 AM NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Candace Parker scored 25 points and had four blocked shots to lead No. 3 Tennessee to a 63-48 victory over No. 22 Vanderbilt on Saturday in the Southeastern Conference tournament semifinals.Alexis Hornbuckle added 14 points for the Lady Vols (29-2), who will face regular-season champion Louisiana State in the SEC title game on Sunday.
When the teams met in Knoxville during the regular season, LSU erased an early 21-2 deficit and beat Tennessee going away, 78-62.
Jennifer Risper had 14 points and nine rebounds for Vanderbilt (22-8), which shot a dreadful 2-of-17 from 3-point range.
