Old Dominion rallies to continue unbeaten CAA tourney run

Mar 16, 2008 - 8:33 PM NEWARK, Delaware (Ticker) -- T.J. Jordan scored 15 points as No. 14 Old Dominion wrapped up another successful run in the Colonial Athletic Association tournament with a 71-64 victory over Virginia Commonwealth on Sunday.

The Lady Monarchs (29-4) claimed their 17th consecutive CAA crown, improving to 50-0 in league tournament games since joining in the 1991-92 season.

A senior guard, Jordan hit a 3-pointer, grabbed seven rebounds and collected two steals.

Despite the undefeated run, Old Dominion faced some adversity, falling behind, 34-16, with just over six minutes left in the first half. The Lady Monarchs sliced the deficit to 38-30 at the half before tying the score at 41-41 in the opening minutes of the second half.

Tiffany Green also scored 15 points and Jazzmin Walters added 12 for Old Dominion, which shot 45 percent (13-of-29) in the second half.

Krystal Vaughn and D'Andra Moss had 16 points and 10 rebounds each for Virginia Commonwealth (25-7), which shot 26 percent (8-of-31) after halftime.

The Rams were playing in their first CAA title game.
