Price steps up to lead Ole Miss to upset of Vanderbilt

Jan 8, 2007 - 1:47 AM OXFORD, Mississippi (Ticker) -- Armintie Price personally got the best of Vanderbilt.

Price scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Mississippi posted a 76-66 upset victory over No. 10 Vanderbilt in a Southeastern Conference matchup.

The senior guard, who shot 8-of-19 from the field, also handed out seven assists and collected three steals, becoming the school's all-time leader in that category with 336.

Price entered the game tied for the school mark with her coach, Carol Ross.

Alliesha Easley scored 14 points, Ashley Awkward 13 and Danetra Forrest 12 for the Lady Rebels (13-4, 2-0 SEC), who won their opening two league games for the first time since 1995-96.

Caroline Williams scored 19 points and Carla Thomas 18 for the Commodores (14-2, 1-1), who committed 17 turnovers en route to absorbing their first loss in seven games.
