Middle Tennessee captures 11th straight win
Jan 12, 2007 - 4:30 AM BOCA RATON, Florida (Ticker) -- Chrissy Givens scored 23 points, including 19 in the first half, as Middle Tennessee continued its mid-season run with a 78-48 Sun Belt Conference victory over Florida Atlantic.Givens shot 10-of-15 from the field and grabbed six rebounds for the Blue Raiders (14-3, 6-0 Sun Belt), who posted their 11th straight win.
Amber Holt scored 14 points and Krystle Horton added 12 and eight rebounds for Middle Tennessee, which held Florida Atlantic to 18 percent (5-of-28) shooting in the first half to grab a 47-16 lead at the break.
Overall, the Owls shot just 34 percent (18-of-53) and got only 18 combined points from their starters.
Brittney Crenshaw finished with 10 points, nine boards and four assists off the bench for Florida Atlantic (4-14, 0-6), which absorbed its third straight defeat.
