Walker, Hampton lead Cal over Washington State

Jan 12, 2007 - 6:12 AM PULLMAN, Washington (Ticker) -- Ashley Walker scored 20 points and Devanei Hampton added a double-double as 22nd-ranked California rallied from a three-point halftime deficit to escape with a 55-48 victory over lowly Washington State.

The Bears (12-4, 3-3 Pac-10) won despite shooting just 39 percent (17-of-44) and committing 23 turnovers. They held the Cougars to 30 percent (17-of-56) while holding a 42-28 edge on the boards.

Walker shot 6-of-13 from the floor, hit 8-of-12 free throws and added nine rebounds and three steals. Hampton had 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting and grabbed 13 rebounds but committed seven turnovers.

Marisa Stotler had 12 points, five rebounds and four steals for Washington State (5-12, 1-6).
