Fowles, LSU send Alabama to sixth straight loss
Jan 21, 2007 - 10:54 PM TUSCALOOSA, Alabama (Ticker) -- Sylvia Fowles collected 15 points and 11 rebounds and Quianna Chaney added 11 points as eighth-ranked LSU continued its hot start with a 61-45 victory over struggling Alabama.Erica White had nine points and five assists for the Tigers, who shot 41 percent (28-of-69) from the field and outrebounded the Crimson Tide, 42-35.
Fowles was 5-of-16 from the floor and dominated the glass, and Chaney shot an efficient 7-of-9 from the field for LSU (18-2, 4-1 SEC), which won comfortably, cruising in the second half. The Tigers took their largest lead, 57-37, with 3:24 left in the game.
Navonda Moore scored 19 points for Alabama (10-11, 0-6), which shot just 35 percent (18-of-52) and committed 22 turnovers. The Crimson Tide have lost six games in row.
