Jackson has huge game as Longhorns rout Aggies
Jan 21, 2007 - 11:10 PM AUSTIN, Texas (Ticker) -- Tiffany Jackson collected 27 points and 14 rebounds and Brittainey Raven added 14 points as 24th-ranked Texas routed 18th-ranked Texas A&M, 64-45, in a Big 12 clash.It was an impressive defensive performance for the Longhorns, who held the Aggies to 31 percent (16-of-51) shooting from the field and forced 23 turnovers. Texas scored 26 points off those miscues.
Jackson was 9-of-12 from the floor and 9-of-12 from the line to pace the Longhorns (14-5, 3-2 Big 12), who shot a remarkable 74 percent (14-of-19) in the second half to secure the victory. Raven played efficiently, nailing 7-of-11 shots from the field.
Takia Starks scored 14 points for the Aggies, who were outscored, 32-18, in the paint.
