Coleman and Newman lead Maryland over Wake Forest
Jan 21, 2007 - 11:26 PM COLLEGE PARK, Maryland (Ticker) -- Marissa Coleman scored 21 points and Ashleigh Newman added 20 as third-ranked Maryland used stellar shooting from the outside en route to an 83-60 rout of Wake Forest.Kristi Toliver and Shay Doron scored 10 points apiece for the Terrapins, who shot 45 percent (31-of-69) from the field and 8-of-18 from the arc.
Coleman shot 9-of-13 from the floor, including 3-of-6 on 3-pointers. Newman was 8-of-12, including 3-of-5 from the arc for Maryland, which outscored Wake Forest, 41-16, in a dominant first half.
Yolanda Lavender scored 22 points and Alex Tchangoue added 20 for the Demon Deacons, who shot just 31 percent (20-of-64).
