Brown perfect from field as Penn State upsets Michigan State

Jan 26, 2007 - 2:55 AM STATE COLLEGE, Pennsylvania (Ticker) -- Amanda Brown scored 27 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as Penn State posted a 69-58 Big Ten Conference upset victory over No. 21 Michigan State.

Kamela Gissendanner had 16 points, six rebounds and five assists and Brianne O'Rourke added a season-high 15 points for the Lady Lions (10-11, 3-5 Big Ten), who are 8-1 at home this season.

Brown, who was held to four points and six rebounds in a 75-62 loss at Minnesota on Sunday, shot 8-of-8 from the field and posted her 16th career double-double for Penn State, which shot 45 percent (22-of-49).

Reserve Aisha Jefferson scored 15 points and Victoria Lucas-Perry added 13 and six rebounds for Michigan State (15-5, 6-2), which shot just 35 percent (23-of-66) and has never won here in 13 tries.
