Nebraska pulls away in second half to beat Kansas
Jan 28, 2007 - 5:01 AM LINCOLN, Nebraska (Ticker) -- Kelsey Griffin scored a season-high 24 points to lead No. 25 Nebraska to a 78-58 Big 12 Conference victory over Kansas.Griffin also grabbed 10 rebounds to register her ninth double-double of the season for the Cornhuskers (17-4, 5-2).
The game was tied, 39-39, at halftime, but Nebraska broke it open after the break by shooting 61 percent (14-of-23) from the floor.
Danielle Page added a career-high 17 points and five rebounds to help the Cornhuskers to a dominating 38-24 edge on the glass.
Kansas (6-14, 0-7) scored just 19 points in the second half, hitting just 30 percent (8-of-27) of their shots after nailing 14-of-26 (54 percent) in the opening 20 minutes.
Shaquina Mosley scored 18 points and Taylor McIntosh had 16 for the Jayhawks.
