Maryland gets back on track with rout of Boston College
Feb 5, 2007 - 1:15 AM COLLEGE PARK, Maryland (Ticker) -- Maryland took the frustration from a two-game losing streak out on Boston College.Shay Doron scored 15 points to lead the fourth-ranked Terrapins to a 71-39 romp over the Eagles in an Atlantic Coast Conference mismatch.
Leading, 36-23, at halftime, Maryland (22-3, 6-3 ACC) turned up the defense in the second half and limited Boston College to 14 percent (5-of-35) shooting.
After the Eagles scored the first three points of the second half, the Terrapins went on a 31-6 run over the next 13 minutes for a 67-32 cushion.
Marissa Coleman and Laura Harper scored 11 points apiece for Maryland, which enjoyed a staggering 55-36 advantage on the boards.
Mickel Picco was the only player in double figures for Boston College (11-12, 1-8). She typified the team's shooting woes, hitting just 1-of-10 from 3-point range.
