No. 11 LSU routs SE Louisiana 72-27

Dec 23, 2009 - 3:07 AM BATON ROUGE, LA.(AP) -- Allison Hightower scored 16 points and added five steals to help No. 11 LSU beat Southeastern Louisiana 72-27 on Tuesday night.

LaSondra Barrett had a double-double for the Lady Tigers (10-1) with 11 points and a season-high 10 rebounds. She also added five assists.

Kim Edmonson led the Lady Lions (6-6) with 10 points. Southeastern Louisiana's leading scorer Quantae Thomas was held to five points. The scoring output was a season-low for the Lady Lions, who shot just 23 percent from the field.

Hightower had the first eight points for LSU, which started the game with a 17-0 run.

Southeastern Louisiana ended its drought when Edmonson made a basket with 11:38 remaining before halftime. The Lady Lions missed eight shots and committed eight turnovers before scoring their first points.

They trailed 35-11 at the half and never got close.
