Near-perfect Fontenette leads Texas to 114-53 win
Jan 2, 2010 - 7:03 PM AUSTIN, Texas(AP) -- Ashleigh Fontenette had a perfect first half with 22 points on 9-of-9 shooting and No. 17 Texas romped past Arkansas-Pine Bluff 114-53 on Saturday.Texas' 114 points tied for the fourth most in school history.
Fontenette played only 10 minutes in the first half. Her first basket of the second half was a 3-pointer before misfiring on her 11th shot with about 14:30 left to play. Fontenette finished with 30 points, a season high for the Longhorns (10-3).
Kathleen Nash added 17 points for Texas, hitting five 3-pointers.
Jasmine Abrams scored 20 for Arkansas-Pine Bluff (1-10), which hasn't played a home game yet this season. The Lady Lions don't play at home until Jan. 16.
