Thompson helps No. 14 Oklahoma beat Texas Tech
Jan 9, 2010 - 10:45 PM NORMAN, Okla.(AP) -- Amanda Thompson scored 17 points and Danielle Robinson added 15 to help No. 14 Oklahoma beat Texas Tech 73-58 on Saturday in the Big 12 conference opener for both teams.Abi Olajuwon had 12 points and Nyeshia Stevenson 11 as the Sooners (11-3) beat Tech for the ninth straight time.
Kierra Mallard and Tilmila Martin scored 14 points each for Texas Tech (12-3). Tech led only once, 12-10, but the Sooners went on a 13-2 run to take a 23-14 advantage.
Oklahoma extended the lead to 11 before Tech scored the final six points of the half to trail 36-31 at the break.
Texas Tech got within 45-42, but Oklahoma scored 10 of the next 12 points to put the game away. Oklahoma outrebounded Tech 40-28, with Stevenson pulling down a game-high 10. Both teams had 21 turnovers.
