Givens, Middle Tennessee overcome Troy
Feb 23, 2007 - 2:19 AM TROY, Alabama (Ticker) -- Chrissy Givens scored 31 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as No. 17 Middle Tennessee erupted in the second half to post a 68-60 victory over Sun Belt Conference rival Troy.Krystle Horton had 14 points and collected 10 rebounds and Amber Holt added 14 points for Middle Tennessee (25-3, 17-0 SBC), who have won 22 consecutive games and a record 17 consecutive conference games.
Givens made 15-of-29 shots and added six steals as the Blue Raiders forced 23 turnovers and held a 24-18 advantage in points off of turnovers.
Kylie Morrissy scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Amy Lewis add 15 points for Troy (12-15, 5-12), which led 36-33 at the half.
The Trojans shot 33 percent (7-of-21) from the floor in the second half and were outscored 35-24.
