Texas A&M beats Texas; wins Big 12

Mar 1, 2007 - 2:55 AM COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Ticker) -- Texas A&M has won at least a share of the Big 12 Conference regular season title for the first time in school history.

A'Quonesia Franklin scored 27 points to lead the 16th-ranked Aggies to a 67-60 victory over rival Texas.

Takia Starks added 18 points for Texas A&M (23-5, 13-3 Big 12), which overcame shooting just 37 percent (23-of-62) from the field by outrebounding Texas, 42-32.

La Toya Micheaux collected 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Aggies, who closed their regular season with four straight wins.

Brittainey Raven and Tiffany Jackson each scored 19 points for the Longhorns (17-13, 6-10), who shot 45 percent (26-of-58) and have lost five of their last six games.
