Wiggins lifts Stanford to Pac-10 final
Mar 5, 2007 - 5:14 AM SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) -- Candice Wiggins made eight 3-pointers and scored 29 points to lead No. 8 Stanford to a 67-52 Pacific-10 Conference semifinal victory over Southern California.Stanford (27-4) will face Arizona State on Monday in the tournament final.
Wiggins shot 10-of-13 from the floor and missed only one of her 3-point attempts for the Cardinal, who shot 42 percent (22-of-52).
Kristen Newlin collected 10 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks for Stanford, which made 10-of-14 from the arc.
Eshaya Murphy scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Trojans (17-13).
Chloe Smith added 14 points and seven rebounds for USC, which shot just 31 percent (19-of-62) from the field.
