No. 3 Duke clips Virginia Tech
Jan 17, 2011 - 12:23 AM Blacksburg, VA (Sports Network) - Allison Vernerey netted 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds as No. 3 Duke remained undefeated with a 57-43 over Virginia Tech.Tricia Liston came off the bench to provide 13 points for the Blue Devils (17-0, 3-0 ACC). Jasmine Thomas was the only Duke starter to reach double- digit scoring with 12 points.
Shanel Harrison led the Hokies (9-9, 0-4) with 10 points and seven boards.
The Blue Devils were efficient in the first half making 15-of-30 shots from the field. They used a 34-21 halftime lead to keep their distance in the second half.
Virginia Tech was unable to mount a comeback as it was outscored 23-22 in the last 20 minutes.
