Lady Lions cruise past Spartans
Jan 6, 2013 - 9:55 PM East Lansing, MI (Sports Network) - Dara Taylor scored 18 points to help ninth-ranked Penn State to a 76-55 win over Michigan State.Nikki Greene scored 14 points with 10 rebounds, Alex Bentley added 13 points while Maggie Lucas scored 12 for the Lady Lions (12-2, 2-0 Big Ten), who have won six straight.
Becca Mills scored 17 points with five rebounds while Jasmine Hines added 12 points and five boards for the Spartans (13-2, 1-1), who had a five-game winning streak stopped.
Penn State scored the first six points of the game and got an 11-0 run later in the first half to help the team take a 34-25 lead into the halftime break.
A 13-2 run by the Lady Lions early in the second half esentially put the game away.
