Lucas leads Penn State over Illinois
Feb 21, 2013 - 2:36 AM University Park, PA (Sports Network) - Maggie Lucas scored 22 points to go with nine rebounds and five assists as No. 7 Penn State recorded a 95-62 win over Illinois on Wednesday.Alex Bentley scored 20 points and gave out seven assists along with five rebounds for the Lady Lions (22-3, 12-1 Big Ten), who have won five straight games.
Karisma Penn and Adrienne GodBold each scored 17 points for the Fighting Illini (15-10, 8-5), who had won their previous two coming in.
It was close early, but a 12-1 run capped on a Bentley layup with 9 1/2 minutes to play in the first half put the Lions up 25-13.
Penn State took a 54-33 advantage into the halftime break and never had its lead dip below 18 points in the second half.
