No. 9 Kentucky holds off Arkansas
Jan 26, 2014 - 8:31 PM Lexington, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Jennifer O'Neill poured in 21 points to go along six rebounds and five assists to help ninth-ranked Kentucky to a 68-58 win over Arkansas at Memorial Coliseum.Janee Thompson scored 13 and Bria Goss added 10 points and six rebounds for the Wildcats (16-4, 4-3 SEC), who have won three of their last four.
Jessica Jackson totaled 23 points and five rebounds for Arkansas (15-5, 2-5), which has lost four of its last five. Jhasmin Bowen and Keira Peak contributed 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Just over a minute into the second half, Arkansas rattled off 10 straight points to take a 10-point advantage with 17:20 to play.
The Wildcats fired right back and outscored the Razorbacks 34-14 the rest of the way to seal the deal.
The first 20 minutes set the tone for a tight game with four ties and three lead changes. The largest lead was eight by Kentucky with 15:52 left in the half, but Arkansas came back and led by a 32-31 margin at the break.
