Thompson leads No. 13 Kentucky women past Colorado 86-61

(AP) Janee Thompson scored 17 points and seven assists and No. 13 Kentucky got off to a fast start to defeat Colorado 86-61 on Sunday.The Wildcats (4-0) had a 14-0 run over the last five minutes of the first quarter for a 22-7 lead and then scored the last eight of the first half to make it 42-21. Defensively they scored 16 points off 16 turnovers.
Maci Morris added 13 points and three players had 10, including Evelyn Akhator, who had nine rebounds.
Kentucky hit 7 of 10 on 3-pointers in the second half to finish 11 of 18.
Kennedy Leonard had 13 of her 15 points in the second half for the Buffaloes (2-1), who gave coach Linda Lappe her 100th career win in their last previous outing. Leonard, a freshman also had 10 assists.
Colorado went 8 of 14 behind the arc but shot just 41 percent overall.
