Wright State women rally past No. 24 George Washington 77-71
Nov 28, 2015 - 9:42 PM CEDAR PARK, Texas (AP) Kim Demmings scored 32 points, including a key 3-pointer with 26 seconds left, and Wright State rallied to beat No. 24 George Washington 77-71 on Saturday in the Lone Star Showcase.Wright State trailed by as many as 11 points in the second half but battled back to tie it at 64 on Emily Vogelpohl's two free throws with 3:51 remaining. Vogelpohl's hook in the lane at the 2:29 mark gave Wright State its first lead of the game at 68-67 and Antania Hayes' layup extended its lead to 70-67.
Jonquel Jones had a putback to cut George Washington's deficit to 70-69, but Demmings dribbled down the clock and hit a 3-pointer from the top of the key for a 74-69 lead.
Demmings made two free throws with 12.7 seconds left to seal it.
Vogelpohl tied her career high with 17 points for Wright State (6-2).
Jones recorded her fifth straight double-double with 17 points and 19 rebounds for George Washington (5-2).
