Thomas, Duke survive shooting woes to edge Purdue
Nov 23, 2007 - 1:34 AM ST THOMAS, Virgin Islands (Ticker) -- Jasmine Thomas scored 15 points off the bench and Chante Black added 10 and 11 rebounds as No. 8 Duke posted a 53-41 victory over 20th-ranked Purdue on Thursday.The Blue Devils (4-0) grabbed a 25-18 advantage at intermission when Thomas nailed a runner in the lane just before the buzzer sounded.
Despite the triumph, Duke struggled from the field, shooting just 31 percent (19-of-60) and overcame 20 turnovers to stay unbeaten on the season.
Danielle Campbell had 14 points and 13 boards and Natasha Bogdanova netted 12 for the Boilermakers (2-1), who shot a dismal 29 percent (12-of-41).
