Auburn routs Winston-Salem State in opener of Buckeye Classic

Nov 24, 2007 - 8:26 PM COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- Whitney Boddie and Sherell Hobbs both scored 13 points as No. 25 Auburn recorded a 70-37 victory over Winston-Salem State in the opening round of the Buckeye Classic on Saturday.

Boddie overcame 3-of-10 shooting from the field by converting 7-of-9 free throws and also grabbed nine rebounds. Hobbs added eight boards as the Tigers finished with a 48-32 advantage on the glass.

Alli Smalley had 12 points and Trevesha Jackson added nine and seven rebounds for Auburn (5-0), which will face either Ohio State or Colgate on Sunday.

Taineshia Kee scored nine points for the Lady Rams (0-3), who shot 23 percent (12-of-52) from the field.
