Wisconsin fires women's basketball coach Bobbie Kelsey

(AP) Wisconsin has fired women's basketball coach Bobbie Kelsey after the Badgers went 47-100 during her five seasons.Athletic director Barry Alvarez announced Kelsey's dismissal on Friday, two days after 13th-seeded Wisconsin (7-22) lost 76-72 in overtime to Northwestern in the Big Ten Tournament
The school will conduct a national search.
Kelsey was previously an assistant coach and player at powerhouse Stanford, when it won the 1992 NCAA title in her freshman year. But the success didn't carry over in her first career head-coaching job at Wisconsin, where the Badgers went 19-65 in Big Ten play during Kelsey's tenure.
