Paris carries Oklahoma past Illinois
Dec 6, 2007 - 4:39 AM CHAMPAIGN, Illinois (Ticker) -- Courtney Paris registered her 68th consecutive double-double to lift No. 9 Oklahoma to a 77-67 victory over Illinois on Wednesday.Paris scored a season-high 22 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for the Sooners, who shot a blistering 56.3 percent (18-of-32) in the second half. She also blocked four shots.
Wednesday night was the two-year anniversary of the start of Paris' streak, when she went for 24 points and 22 boards against UCLA.
Danielle Robinson added 14 points and a career-high seven steals for Oklahoma (5-2).
Chelsea Gordon scored 16 points and Danyel Crutcher and Jenna Smith added 15 apiece for Illinois (6-3).
