Toliver leads Maryland past Temple
Dec 9, 2007 - 9:54 PM COLLEGE PARK, Maryland (Ticker) -- Kristi Toliver scored 15 points and dished out 11 assists to lead Maryland to a 64-46 victory over Temple on Sunday.Crystal Langhorne scored 14 points and Marissa Coleman added 12 for the Terrapins (13-1), who won their third game in a row despite turning in their lowest first-half scoring effort of the season. Maryland held a 28-18 lead at intermission.
Maryland jumped out to a 19-4 lead in the first and never trailed, relying on a defensive effort that held Temple (4-6) to 24 percent (6-of-25) shooting in the opening half. The Terrapins pushed the lead to as large as 21 points with 3:46 remaining in the game.
Ashley Morris scored 13 points on 6-of-17 shooting for the Owls, who made it to the free throw line just nine times while sending Maryland to the line 32 times.
