Balanced LSU has little trouble with UIC

Dec 18, 2007 - 11:03 PM CANCUN, Mexico (Ticker) -- All but one player cracked the scoring column for No. 8 LSU on Tuesday in an 86-44 victory over Illinois-Chicago in the first game of the 2007 Caribbean Classic.

Center Sylvia Fowles led the way for the Lady Tigers with 17 points and eight rebounds, while guard Quianna Chaney added 14 points. Allison Hightower had 13 points off the bench and Ashley Thomas chipped in with 10 points.

LSU (8-2) also received contributions off the bench from Erica White, who had eight points and three assists, along with Kristen Morris, who scored seven points and grabbed nine rebounds.

Defensively, LSU held the Flames (3-6) to 34.6 percent from the floor, forced 25 turnovers and collected 17 steals.

Guard Jessica Miller was the only UIC player to reach double figures, scoring 12 points.
