Waner falls short of triple-double in Duke rout
Dec 19, 2007 - 3:47 AM DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Abby Waner fell three assists shy of a triple-double as No. 15 Duke rolled to a 95-61 victory over Utah Valley State on Tuesday.Waner scored 19 points, grabbed 10 steals and handed out seven assists for the Blue Devils (8-3), who feasted off of 39 turnovers by the Wolverines, turning them into 49 points.
Collecting almost half of her team's 24 steals, Waner established a new school record and tied the Atlantic Coast Conference mark for most steals in a single game.
Chante Black and Joy Cheek had 15 points apiece for Duke, which captured its third straight win.
Robyn Fairbanks had 17 points and 20 rebounds for Utah Valley State (9-3), which was outscored in points in the paint, 60-24.
