Tennessee pulls away from UCLA
Dec 20, 2007 - 5:29 AM LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Candace Parker led five players in double figures with 17 points to spark top-ranked Tennessee to an 82-70 victory over UCLA on Wednesday night.Shannon Bobbitt added 16 points for the Lady Vols (10-0), who used a blistering shooting performance to pull away in the second half.
Leading, 32-31, at halftime, Tennessee shot 15-of-24 (62.5 percent) after the break to knock off the upset-minded Bruins.
Alexis Hornbuckle and Angie Bjorklund added 12 points apiece for the Lady Vols, who owned a 38-27 edge on the boards.
Lindsey Pluimer scored 16 points to lead UCLA (4-6), which stayed closed in the first half by shooting 60 percent (12-of-20).
