McCants scores 19 as North Carolina routs Western Kentucky
Dec 21, 2007 - 6:25 AM MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina (Ticker) -- Rashanda McCants scored 19 points and had four blocked shots and four steals as No. 3 North Carolina defeated Western Kentucky, 93-60, at the Beach Ball Classic on Thursday.Ceter DeGraffenreid had 16 points, six assists and three steals for the Tar Heels (12-1), who shot 53 percent (38-of-72).
Erlana Larkins added 13 points and eight rebounds, while Jessica Breland chipped in 12 points and seven boards for North Carolina, which turned 26 turnovers by Western Kentucky into 23 points.
Crystal Kelly scored a team-high 18 points to become the all-time leading scorer for the Lady Toppers (7-5).
Kelly surpassed the 2,262 points scored by Lillie Mason (1982-86). Kelly is also 18 points shy of the Sun Belt Conference's career mark, held by South Alabama's Adrian Vickers.
