Black powers Duke past N.C. State
Jan 20, 2008 - 9:01 PM DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Chante Black had 17 points and 11 rebounds as No. 12 Duke coasted to a 71-57 victory over North Carolina State in Atlantic Coast Conference action on Sunday.Joy Cheek had 14 points and Wanisha Smith added 13 for the Blue Devils (14-4, 3-1 ACC), who led by double digits for the final 14 minutes of the contest.
With the game tied early in the second half, Duke went on an 18-2 run to break the game open at 53-37 with 11:24 remaining.
Nikitta Gartrell had 13 points and Shayla Fields added 12 for the Wolfpack (12-7, 0-4), who have lost four straight games to open conference play for the first time since the 2003-04 season.
