Strong first half propels LSU past Florida
Feb 3, 2008 - 7:37 PM GAINESVILLE, Florida (Ticker) -- Quianna Chaney had 19 points and Erica White added 16 and seven assists as eighth-ranked Louisiana State won its ninth straight game, 85-71, over Florida in a Southeastern Conference contest on Sunday.The Tigers (18-3, 7-0 SEC) jumped out to a 12-1 lead and cruised into the half with a 45-28 advantage. LSU scored the first seven points of the second half and led by as many as 72-45 with 8:30 to play.
Allison Hightower chipped in 14 points for the Tigers, who have won their last nine games by double digits.
Marshae Dotson had 20 points and 14 rebounds for the Gators (14-8, 3-4), who committed 19 turnovers and shot 38 percent (21-of-55) from the floor.
