Mitchell helps Utah win 15th straight
Feb 10, 2008 - 1:19 AM SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) -- Leilani Mitchell scored 19 points and handed out 10 assists to lead 23rd-ranked Utah to a 71-52 win over Air Force in a Mountain West Conference matchup on Saturday.Jessica Perry added 12 points and Morgan Warburton chipped in 11 for the Utes, who forced 18 turnovers - leading to 24 points - en route to their 15th consecutive victory.
Utah (20-3, 9-0 MWC) jumped out to a 40-25 advantage at the break on the strength of a 59 percent (16-of-27) shooting effort in the opening half. Mitchell's jumper at the buzzer gave her 14 points in the first 20 minutes.
Brooke Cultra scored 13 and Raimee Beck finished with 12 points for the Falcons (7-14, 1-8), who shot 43 percent (21-of-49) in the contest and has lost four straight and nine of their last 10 games.
