Old Dominion advances to Colonial final
Mar 15, 2008 - 9:44 PM NEWARK, Delaware (Ticker) -- Shahida Williams scored 19 points and No. 14 Old Dominion continued its success in the Colonial Athletic Association tournament with a 74-51 victory over Towson in the semifinals on Saturday.T.J. Jordan scored 12 points and Megan Pym added 11 for Old Dominion (28-4), which won its 49th straight CAA tournament contest and gave coach Wendy Larry her 500th career victory as coach of the Lady Monarchs.
The Lady Monarchs scored 27 points off of 23 turnovers by the Tigers and advanced to face Virginia Commonwealth in the conference final on Sunday.
Shanae Baker-Brice scored 14 points for Towson (22-10), which shot 30 percent (17-of-57) from the field, including 1-of-12 from the arc.
