Texas A&M stops Duke, advances to "Elite Eight"
Mar 31, 2008 - 3:27 AM OKLAHOMA CITY (Ticker) -- Patrice Reado scored all 17 of her points in the second half to lead Texas A&M to a 77-63 victory over Duke in an Oklahoma City Regional matchup on Sunday.Takia Starks had 15 points for second-seeded Texas A&M (29-7), which advances to its first regional final with the win. The Aggies will meet top-seeded Tennessee or fifth-seeded Notre Dame on Tuesday for a spot in the Final Four.
The Aggies led, 29-25, at the half and clamped down on the Blue Devils after the break. Texas A&M outscored Duke, 48-38, in the second half and limited the Blue Devils to 30 percent (9-of-30) shooting from the field.
Chante Black had 17 points and 12 rebounds for third-seeded Duke (25-10). Abby Waner scored 15 points, Wanisha Smith had 11 points and Keturah Jackson added 10 points for the Blue Devils.
