Langhorne, Maryland cruise to title in BTI Classic
Nov 19, 2006 - 11:13 PM COLLEGE PARK, Maryland (Ticker) -- Crystal Langhorne and defending national champion Maryland barely broke a sweat in beating a local rival.Langhorne scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead top-ranked Maryland to a 73-48 victory over No. 25 George Washington in the third round of the BTI Classic.
Shay Doron had 17 points and seven rebounds while Laura Harper added 14 points and seven boards for the Terrapins (5-0), who held a 53-30 edge on the glass.
Kristi Tolliver shot just 2-of-10 from the floor but dished out six assists while reserve Jade Perry scored 10 points for Maryland, which entered the break with a 36-22 lead and cruised thereafter.
Kimberly Beck scored 17 points while Sarah-Jo Lawrence added 15 for George Washington (4-1), which shot just 33 percent (21-of-63).
