Waner leads Duke to rout of Old Dominion
Nov 30, 2006 - 2:54 AM DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Abby Warner and Duke had another easy night.Warner scored 16 points to lead five players in double figures as fifth-ranked Duke cruised to an 89-40 rout of Old Dominion.
Carrem Gay added 13 points, Joy Cheek 12, Keturah Jackson 11 and Alison Bales 10 for the Blue Devils (6-0), who raced to a commanding 43-11 halftime lead.
Waner made 6-of-8 shots and Gay converted all six of her attempts from the field for the Blue Devils, who have won their first six games by an astounding 40.3 points per game.
The Blue Devils shot 59 percent (36-of-61) in their latest rout.
Tish Lyons scored 11 points for Old Dominion (2-3), which shot just 25 percent (13-of-52) and committed 30 turnovers.
