Texas State defeats Texas Southern 52-18

Sep 27, 2009 - 4:32 AM SAN MARCOS, Texas(AP) -- Bradley George passed for 325 yards and two touchdowns to break a school record for career passing and lead Texas State to a 52-18 victory over Texas Southern.

The game brought George to 7,287 career passing yards, surpassing the previous record of 7,206 yards set by Barrick Nealy from 2003 to 2005.

George connected with Daren Dillard and Da'Marcus Griggs on a pair of 13-yard TD passes.

Alvin Canady rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns, and Frank Reddic added two rushing scores for the Bobcats (2-1). Trey Hampton also ran for a score, and Justin Garelick added a field goal.

Texas Southern quarterback Arvell Nelson threw for 325 yards and was the Tigers' top rusher with 83 yards. He ran for one touchdown for the Tigers (1-3).
