Florida A&M defeats Morgan State 31-28 in OT

Oct 31, 2009 - 11:45 PM BALTIMORE(AP) -- Trevor Scott kicked a 35-yard field goal on the first series of overtime, and the Florida A&M defense made a fourth-down stop for a 31-28 victory over Morgan State on Saturday.

Scott's field goal gave Florida A&M (6-2, 4-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) a three-point lead. On the next series, the Bears tried to convert a fourth-and-1 instead of trying a game-tying field goal, but Florida A&M's Cameron Houston stopped Carlton Jackson to end the game.

Curtis Pulley sparked the Rattlers, accounting for 405 yards and three touchdowns. He ran for 231 yards and two scores, and threw for 174 more and another touchdown.

Jackson was 16-for-22 for 207 yards and two touchdowns to keep the Bears (5-3, 3-2) close.

Florida A&M took an early 14-0 lead by scoring touchdowns on its first two drives, but Morgan State kept coming back.
