Bryant downs Duquesne 20-0

Nov 21, 2009 - 8:45 PM PITTSBURGH(AP) -- Mike Croce threw a touchdown pass and Christopher Bird kicked a pair of field goals, leading Bryant past Duquesne 20-0 on Saturday in the season finale for both teams.

Croce was 18-for-35 with 208 yards, and Matt Tracey caught five passes for 61 yards and a score for the Bulldogs (5-6, 4-4 Northeast Conference). Jerell Smith rushed for 94 yards on 21 carries.

After a scoreless first half, Bird kicked field goals of 43 and 36 yards in the third quarter to give Bryant a 6-0 advantage.

Croce connected with Tracey on a 16-yard touchdown pass early in the fourth to extend the lead to 13-0, and Lindsey Gamble's 5-yard rushing TD gave Bryant its final margin.

The Bulldogs won their final two games after dropping the previous five. The Dukes (3-8, 2-6) lost five of their last six.

Kevin Rombach finished 8-for-20 with 60 yards and five interceptions for the Dukes.
