James Madison rolls over Morehead St. 48-7

Sep 5, 2010 - 2:37 AM HARRISONBURG, Va.(AP) -- James Madison opened the season with an impressive 48-7 victory over Morehead State on Saturday night.

The Dukes dominated play from the opening whistle as they outgained the Eagles on offense by 331 yards and held Morehead State quarterback Zach Lewis to just 85 yards passing.

James Madison senior quarterback Drew Dudzik threw for 189 and two touchdowns while running for two more scores.

Dudzik got the Dukes on the board early with a 1-yard touchdown run that capped off a nine-play, 63-yard drive on the first offensive possession of the game.

The Dukes followed with a five-play, 37-yard drive to take a 14-0 lead.

Touchdown passes of 46 and 19 yards to James Madison wideout Kerby Long made the Dukes' lead 41-0.

A 1-yard touchdown run from sophomore tailback Lee Reynolds with 2:48 remaining in the third quarter ended the scoring for the Dukes.
