Furman beats Presbyterian 45-21

Sep 15, 2009 - 9:37 PM GREENVILLE, S.C.(AP) -- Jordan Sorrells passed for three touchdowns and ran for another as Furman crushed Presbyterian 45-21 Saturday in the season opener for both teams.

It was the 12th straight win for Furman over the Blue Hose. Furman has scored at least 40 points in the series eight straight times.

Sorrells completed 24 of 30 passes for 285 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for another touchdown. Sorrells moved to fifth on the all-time passing list at Furman with 4,226 yards.

Terso Uhaa added two rushing touchdowns for Furman.

Furman scored three straight touchdowns in the second half to extend a 24-14 lead to 45-14.

Brandon Miley completed 18 of 34 passes for 237 yards and two touchdowns for Presbyterian.
